Originally established in 2012, Sparrow Coffee began as a means to showcase the artistry of Chris Chacko and his pursuit of handcrafting exceptionally sourced coffees unlike any other. Starting as a wholesale coffee roaster, providing coffee to some of the worlds greatest restaurants and bars, Chris decided to enhance his brand experience and build his first cafe, partnering with blocHaus to do so.

In 2018, blocHaus worked hand-in-hand with the partners of Sparrow Coffee to design their inaugural cafe as a statement of the brand. Pulling inspiration from the experience of drinking their coffee, the cafe embodies warmth, incorporating solid walnut custom furnishings, striking brass details and black steel to represent its strength. Exposing the coffee making process, using top of the line equipment, allowed the consumer to connect with the craftsmanship of the product.

The inspiration behind the sparrow logo was the blocHaus motto: “Breaking down preconceived ideas into its simplest geometric form and reconstructing them into innovative experiences.” The new Sparrow branding, signage, and stationary provides an opportunity for their consumers to engage with the brand throughout the entire customer process; From walking in their storefront, ordering at the front counter, sitting down to enjoy their product, and purchasing more to take home. This engagement encourages customer loyalty and ensures consumers come back for more.
